remember this painting? i have returned to it and believe me I have had several folks inquiring about what happened to it. I got really busy with gallery opening and several trips and to tell you the truth it was bugging me and I put it up for a while. I showed it as it was to a collector the other day and she has shown a serious interest in it so that is encouragement enough to finish it up. Today, after finally getting the Gallery heated up with the wood stove[it was 16 degrees this morning and by noon light snow falling. That is the third day in a row that is happening.]I got back to this and worked on the top 4 deer and begun on the buck.
Folks are beginning to think we missed spring and summer and are back into Fall.I have just returned home and the snow is falling heavier and accumulating. Yesterday it was 20 degrees with 60 mph wind and snow falling for about 2 hours. Nasty. They closed the pass.

Beautiful painting Gary, I'm so glad you're going to finish it. I wondered where it went :)I love the way one side is in shadow and the other's in light. Beautiful!
Yucky spring/winter/fall weather!
Gary, this is a very exciting composition. I love the shadow/light break on the crest, and the trees off in the corner. Excellent. I offer my condolences for your weather!
This is nice. I know what you mean about spring, it's trying to snow here.
Hey Gary!.... Was wondering about this beauty! Glad to see that you're back to the easel on it... and on two good legs... it would seem to stand on!
Love the photography in the previous posts as well... especially to see a pic of your Grandgirl Calli. She's beautiful as well as intelligent! Congrats to you both on her graduation accomplishment!
Good Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
I think this is one of my favorites of your compositions, Gary. It is looking fabulous! I love the nestling in that can be done with weather as you are having. I do like the autumn/winter months for just that reason. I suspect that you are getting quite tired of the weather though, yes?
This is a wonderful painting. I am sure that once finished it will not hang around long. It was painful to read about your weather. I am such a whimp. At work yesterday everyone was coming in saying "It is so hot" (90 and humid) and I was saying "I know, isn't it wonderful".
Gary, sitting here in my tank top and shorts with the windows open and an 84F day going on outside, your painting is so refreshing and beautiful. A wood stove in May? Not sure I could handle that anymore. :)
Love it!
Jo
lol.. I see I'm not the only one who sets things aside! Gary, you reminded me that come heck or high water (hahaa from a desertrat) that I was going to do some oils soon. I'm going to come back and look thru your work more often! Congrats on the new gallery, and of course the mulies that are looking very good!
