I have been working a little on my Moose-Grizzly painting the last few days. I had begun this as an Oil Painting but did not like where it was going so restarted with gouache and enlarged the size. Now a little happier with it. I'll get on it today.

Your landscape interpretations are magnificent. Beautiful vistas. Gouache is one of my favorite mediums, and I particularly like Lucas paints. They're pigment rich and don't streak as much as other gouache paints. Also, I like thinning them with ox gall fluid to keep the pigments lustrous. What method do you use?

thanks Kathy. My method has involved using tranparent watercolors mixed with white gouache as I felt it gave my colors a little more zing than straight gouache. I used guache a lot doing testbook illustration work many years back and now in my fine art. I just may have to try using the Lucas if it really does have that brighter quality. As well as the ox gall. Hmm.

I love the start of this painting. It is already showing me that it will be another great one.
