I began my morning this morning having a cup of coffee with this big fellow. Actually I drove up a road south of town and found him sitting along a mountain pond about 6:30 am. He is a big one and made for a most enjoyable subject while I finished off that cup I took with me. Later in the day it clouded up and this and many roads in our area become a quagmire of mud with a steady rain all day. We sure needed it as it has not rained in nearly a month.

That is one fine looking fellow!!
Oh Martine-Alison is going to love this! She was absolutely obsessed with moose while she was here. The only thing is, she pronounced it mouse... lol We just couldn't get her to say it correctly.
Nice morning find. Glad you're finally out of the snow.
This guy is HUGE ! And I love his velvet rack. Sam is right, he would make a great subject. How 'bout you make him a "challenge" so we all can paint him?? But I can totally understand keeping him for yourself ! Ha!! What wonderful coffee company.
This is certainly a delightful way to start the day!
Beautiful animal! Thanks for sharing! Love seeing them - glad you got some rain.
Gidday Gary!.... "He leadeth me beside still waters... it restoreth my soul..."
Ain't that the bottom life in our world pardner!
We are indeed fortunate to be given these blessings... but also that we truly feel that Peace... because we willingly embrace... and share it through our work!

Great shot Gary. The big fellow looks huge ... but I just love the scenery here. Looks like a perfect painting coming up. LOL
Wow! What an awesome photo! I would have flipped out if I'd seen him!
What a wonderful coffee mate! I thought this was one of your incredible paintings, it's a beautiful photo. Enjoy, you live in heaven.
Gary, you're killin me! I love moose...they are always a thrill for me to see in the wild. I have never been lucky enough though to see a big one such as this one. Future painting perhaps?
Your "find" is one of the main reasons my husband and I try to get west as often as possible! Truly an awesome thing to have such creatures in your "backyard"!!!
All the best! Enjoy...
