I have now moved across the canvas and pretty well established what I want where. Next I will begin fine tuning my darks and lights and hopefuly make them all work together.
Thanks for the encouraging words you left on my blog Gary. You make it look so easy and keep turning out great paintings one after the other, seemingly without effort. I'm deeply envious!
Guess I have been producing a lot lately. In fact I have done way more painting in the last 4 months than I ever have. Guess being laid up with this heal there has been nothing else to do but paint. And I have really been enjoying it.
Gary, thanks for checking in on my blog. You have done some outstanding work here. I didn't realize that you sometimes work in gouache watercolor -- very nice piece. Your explanation is very clear.
I am especially impressed with your oil of Desert Anvil. I am also enjoying the development pictures of Early Fall Glade. It's nice to see your process. The picture is coming along beautifully. I like the way you draw the viewer into the deep shadows of the glade and we see sunny expanse beyond.
Thanks, Mary. That was my intention in this painting. To draw the viewer into it. I am hung up on detail and texture and that can be a challenge in something like this. To be so detailed and still pull it off.
