I have been working on this most of the day to finish things up and think I pretty well have it. After a few more days of drying I will put a few more touches to it but I am going to call it finished. PINNACLE MOUNTAIN STREAM 15"x22" Oil Painting. Odd size that means I will have to build a frame special for it but since I build most of my frames anyway that should be no problem.

absolutely stunning composition: the stream seems to echo the shape of the mountain, great work Gary!
ReplyDeleteNice work Gary!
ReplyDeleteWhat great detail - and those rocks ROCK!!! What depth - absolutely love this one!
ReplyDeleteGetting those rocks in there have brought this over the top, Gary. I love the autumn (or end of winter) colors. The spring itself...looks like pure Artesian waters and makes me absolutely thirsty!! A beautiful painting that just makes me want to be in this lovely spot!!
ReplyDeleteA very beautiful painting!, I love the sequence too, very cool and instructive. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
It's so vital... great composition and such bold, lush color.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed checking out your sketches for deer placement.. can't wait to see them in the painting.
Gary - thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteYour water just sparkles on this one. And I have to say I love your Arizona pieces. My husband will be hiking down the canyon soon. Lucky guy. Your paintings capture the Arizona colours beautifully.
This is just stunning, Gary! Love the texture of the grasses, the way the tree is silhouetted against the mountain and the water! Fantastic water!
ReplyDeleteGreat painting. I like the stream smack in the middle taking you up to the mountains. The Cottonwood piece you are working on looks great also. nice colors, you keep showing promise..................
ReplyDeletelol
Love how this one came out!
ReplyDeleteLove this also. The vertical design is perfect, and again, your colors are great.
ReplyDeleteI feel I could just walk into this painting. I love the way the stream leads you into the middle ground and then you have those mountains rearing up at the end of the journey. This is definitely a favourite!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCheers
Paul
