I apologize for getting back to my blog after an extended absence.
I had a pretty nasty fall last week while doing a bulding project on my studio and home. Seems I have pretty well crushed my heel and partly crushed a vertebrae. Ended up in the emergency room in Lander and yesterday in Casper where I Have now been sent home to get the swelling down befor probable surgery next week in Casper. I have been told that I can pretty well forget this fall and maybe most of this winter. First bone I have ever broke.
Oh my goodness Gary! No apologizes please! Just take care of yourself. Anything to do with foot and vertebrae is scary stuff. Please take it easy, heal quickly and we'll be here whenever you want to drop in and say hi. (((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteThat's rotten luck Gary. I hope your surgery and recovery goes well and you're back behind the easel soon.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Pete
That sounds terrible Gary and no doubt very painful. Hope the surgery goes well, get plenty of rest
ReplyDeleteSending healing thoughts to you as you recover from what sounds to be a major injury! Hopefully, you can figure out a way to paint and/or draw while recuperating following the surgery. That will at least make the recuperation period more enjoyable for you and pass the time more quickly. Best wishes to you!
ReplyDeleteGary, My heart sank when I read your post. You lead a very physical lifestyle, it's part of the Western way of life. My hope is that you discover you are resilient and a fast healer. The upside is the profound appreciation you will have for 2 good feet in working order. Speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, Gary, I so sorry to hear about your fall. Hope the swelling goes down soon and that the surgery is a major success. Will be thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteWow! That sounds awful. Hope things get mended and you're feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteGary; so sorry to hear about your misfortune. The best thing you can do is take good care of yourself, so that you can get back to everything you love as soon as possible!
ReplyDeletePerhaps you can get lots of painting done during recovery - sitting in a comfortable chair, leg up on a cushion, sipping a tasty beverage and letting your wife wait on you hand and foot!!! (no pun intended!) And leave the building to the pros!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, speedy and complete recovery.
Gary, sorry to hear that. I hope your surgery goes well and a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
OH NO ! How are they going to keep you in all Fall and Winter ??? But you know you probably should do as they say. But it still stinks. My first thought was that " What if this had happened on one of your solo jaunts in the back counrty ? " I hate to think but that's the mom in me. Sending you warm wishes for a full and speedy recovery, Gary. Keep us all posted, please.
