CHALLENGE
I thought being as I am about to get real busy with opening the gallery and have to go to Montana for the next 4 or 5 days beginning sunday-this would be a good time to offer a new Wildlife Art challenge of this Cow Moose I took last spring. Thought it might be fun to work on a backlit animal. So have at it. I have posted it to a size that by clicking onto it-you can copy a large image of this old girl. When you are finished I hope you will send me a copy of your art to post on my blog as we did with the Bighorn Ram. If this goes like it seems to be going I am going to have to begin a new blog. It is fun though to put everyones submission together just to see how everyone interpretes what I am posting.

  1. Well, I had so much fun painting the Big Horn, guess I'll have to give this a try too. Moose are my favorite anyways, I spent many summers with them in cow camp on Union Pass.

  3. Wow, Gary! Three new things for me to see here! If I can find some time and energy, I may just do this challenge for myself. Whether I send it on to you? Well...that is another story altogether! LOL I will undoubtedly be able to have my granddaughter (who is 5) do a better job on it than I could! Love the two paintings below, especially the winter scene with that approaching (or is it setting?) sun...Beautiful!

  4. I wish I had time to try my shot at this piece. Backlighting seduces me and its hard to resist...

Unfortunately the timing is terrible. Just yesterday I was saying how I'm not sure when I'll get to finish my painting to bring to the gallery at the end of April. I have snagged your photo and maybe I'll eventually get to it...

Oh, just look at all that backlit underbrush!!!
    The temptation is great...

  6. Is it one challange a month Gary, would be good to have a target to work towards. Excellent idea to keep this going, I would like to do this too, if I didnt spend so long on them! Maybe a small one...

  8. A backlit moose? You are killing me here, Gary! LOL

I am going to try this challenge, please give me more than a week though.

I have finished Boar's Tusk and posted it on my blog if you want to go take a peek! Let me know what you think. Thank you so much for your suggestions, I appreciate them very much.

When I grow up, I want to be an artist like you!

It's a good idea... I don't say not! But in this moment i'm very busy because i must finish some paintings for my exhibition and with my hospitalization i'm late. But the challenge will be later... with a woman, of course!
    Best regards.
