RED CANYON COTTONWOODS
18"x24" Oil Painting
I worked on this piece a little more picking up a little better color and modeling in the talus slopes behind the trees and a little more tweaking in the trees. The line of flow bothered me in the foreground so I reworked some of that and now I think I have a little better movement in darks and lights and in the design of this one. I am calling it finished.

and finished it is! gary, this is simply breathtaking. the light, shadow and color play are stunning. i can almost feel the warmth on my face from the golden sun, seemingly represented by the golden trees and the cool chill in the shades of the blues and violets. just an incredibly beautiful, peaceful work or art.

I like the warmer feeling in this finished version, and the way the background lets your imagination wander.

Gary, I've been watching this one evolve. I like where you've taken it. Those gold trees are difficult to do. I get lost in your meandering blues and could keep exploring it for awhile. Very nice.

Really great work Gary, lots of details, a feast for the eyes, The slopes are very well done, just enough detail not to take away from the foreground.

I'm calling it Fabulous!! Those trees are so luminous, and the detail in the rock and grasses really pull the eye around the pic. Wow!

This is wonderful, almost like a photo. I think the grasses and brush in the front look great compared to the previous one.
