I have been working on this 8"x10" Oil Painting the last few days while other work dries. Am pretty happy with the way it turned out. Our Aspens are pretty well changed out now and it is a painters paradise. The Susan Black workshop just ended and I think the over 100 participants were pretty well impressed with the Upper Wind River. We did get a white covering of snow on the mountains last night and I have a fire going in my wood stove in the studio as I write this.

Another gem, Gary. These trees are positively glowing. Can't wait to see autumn creep into your works even more :)

Looks gorgeous! I love how the trees glow.

Our weather is so confused - cool all summer, and now they are predicting hot weather on the way.

Love it! And envy you the cool weather (you really do have short summers there!!!) since we are in the 90's today - crazy weather pattern we are in.

What a picturesque part of the world you live in Gary - how wonderful to be able to refer to these scenes for your paintings - this one is looking so atmospheric!!! :)

Gorgeous colors. Aspens are spectacularly beautiful when their leaves turn and fall, like golden flakes, to the ground.

A fire going? Lucky thing! I wish! Will be another month or so before we can even think about getting a light frost... if we're lucky. Do you and the Missus take boarders? ;-)
