Just to invoke a little humor into my blog. The caption on this photo that I took the other day seems to have the Bighorn Ewe saying, "Hey fellas, Could you open the gate for me" She could actually walk 30 feet to either side where there is no fence.
The camp in Torrey valley was once known as the Audubon Camp of the west as they held educational camps here for years . School teachers, biologists, archeologists and nature enthusiasts now do camps and courses here. Run by the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission.
I have just posted a series of winter sheep photos on my OUTDOOR ADVENTURE BLOG from this great day in the field

OMG look how gorgeous these Bighorns are. I like the unique canvas size and composition of Brooks Lake Creek too!

you are so right Sherry. Animals sure make life interesting and us more human.

hi Sheila,
The Bighorns are a beautiful animal. Very much prized by hunter, photographer and artist. At this time of the year they are easily approached. We ran into over 100 sheep last sunday which I will in next day or so post on my OUTDOOR ADVENTURE BLOG. Dubois has the largest herd in the world and it sure attracts artist and photographer to our area.

Dumb like sheep... but she's looking sideways and thinking of walking around...

Bighorns are not as dumb as domestic sheep who would have stayed at the gate until it would starve to death.[I'm sure]Yes she would eventually walk around the gate. It just struck me as being a humerous photo op.
