I have just completed my first painting since my injury and am amazed at how long it is taking to do art under the circumstances I find myself in. Pretty uncomfortable. We take so much for granted when things are rolling along. It is surprising to me that something as simple sounding as a crushed heel can create such problems. I have several other paintings started but am just happy to be able to post this piece. It is a painting of Yellowstone from some photos I took earlier this fall and thought I would add in the snow. The scene is of the Midway Geyser Basin and I call it "NOVEMBER1 AT MIDWAY". The painting is 12"x24" Gouache watercolor

Gary ! So good to have you back !
This is outstanding btw.I feel so cold looking at it and can imagine the frozen beads of breath on the bison faces. Hope the painting activities can take your mind off the injuries/pain soon. You'll be taking us all on tours of the back country before ya know it. Just stay off ladders etc.

I was so pleased to see a new painting on your blog! So glad you're progressing even though it's not as fast as you'd like. If it's any consolation... you haven't lost your painterly touch... beautiful painting!

thanks all for kind words and encouragement. My wife and Pardner and his wife took me out to breakfast this morning to our local Village Cafe. Was good to have French toast and though a little uncomfortable it is good to get out. Course it takes a lot of explaining to folks about what happened to me. They just were not buying the story that a Grizzly had me by the throat and swinging me around till my foot hit a tree. Well. It sounds so much better than trying to explain how I fell off a load of lumber. That could happen to anyone.

Gary I hope you keep mending & blessing us with your talent!
