I have gotten back to work on this 18"x24" Oil on canvas. I have a lot of folks asking about it in the gallery as I have it setting against the wall near where I am set up to paint. With that much interest in it I guess I had better get it finished.

Gary, Just wondering if you normally let your paintings sit a while at some point in the process? Or do you normally paint straight through? Does a bit of distance help with the finish? Thanks in advance.

usually with my watercolors[gouache]I go straight through to the finish unless it is a pretty involved piece at which point I can get a litle bored with it and put it away for a few days but then have to discipline myself to get back to it. Oils I usually have several things going at a time and seem also to have to put them away for a while to do some sort of project. Working the gallery can slow me down a little on some days and lots of time other days. This time of year it is non stop in the gallery but my pardners wife or my wife are a big help in running things while folks seem to enjoy watching my pardner and myself painting away which we do at the front door.
