I haven't done this in a while so I thought I would post a painting from start to finish.
This is an oil painting, 24"x30" It is a commission piece and will be looking through an Aspen grove. I plan to include some deer also moving through the grove. I have merely blocked color into it at this point to establish an idea of what I want along with getting rid of the white of the canvass.
Stay tuned.

Good morning, Gary! Thank you for stopping by my blog and commenting. I absolutely adore your paintings and am looking forward to seeing more! If I ever get up to Dubois, I will be sure to look you up! Yes, I dabble with a paint brush but not in your caliber at all! I have some photos of Indian Paintbrush on South Pass last July that I want to paint now that I have been inspired by you. You didn't mention which sister sent you my way but it can only be Boo Boo since you called me Jo Jo. :o)
Have a great day!

Boo Boo?
It was Rubye.

Rubye calls me Jo Jo so I call her Boo Boo a nickname from when she was little. She is nine years younger so sometimes those nicknames stick. My name is Jolene but people call me Jo and very familiar people call me Jo Jo.
I love the evolution of your paintings. I used to paint with oils but got frustrated because of the drying time so I changed to acrylic. I have found that oil gives more depth though.
Have a great trip to Denver!
